At first it seems like the author has mastered after effects tracking and such…. but I wonder if there isn’t a simpler explanation as to how he did it… that footage is square not 16:9 rectangular.
I think he did most of his shots with a high def camera mounted on a tripod. did some simple Melieres magicians cuts, then moved the whole scene around in a 720 by 480 comp giving it that hand held look.
The pizza printer is probably just a physical effect. He slid the real piece of pizza into an old printer then let it roll back out. the bacon from the piggy bank is also probably just a practical/ real effect.
lemon candy- pound the lemon onto the table. left the camera running and one of his cohorts put lemon candies in his hand and took the lemon away. Hard cut and waaa- laa.
hitchhiking…. hmmmm … ran into a car and…. oh shut up I have no idea how he did THAT
easter candy- a melieres replacement / cutting trick…
cannon ball… he jumped into a kiddy pool- on a tripod… same shot without him.. camera operator lifts up the camera and points it at an empty pool then cut/blended them together.
skateboard- not sure, THAT was awesome.
pillow fight, he hit his friend with a pillow, then hit an empty couch and cut them together.
cooler off the roof. He got into the cooler then got out. They threw it off and he got on the car roof then the seamed the two shots together.
grape jelly jar was cut in half then put back together. he did the arm gesture then did it again with wolves claws on…. on the upswing they cut to the wolvie hands version and he knocks the already cut jar apart.
gummy worm wiggle…. 2d animation? 3D animation or…. fishing line work by a puppeteering partner above the camera
the eggs. After effects compositing OR they had wires on them held above then swung into him
game of war- just editing
cleaning the room.. my gut feeling is he just did the motions backwards…. but he never touches most of the stuff
invisibility- motion tracking OR he had a cohort take pictures of that tree and building and then printed them onto big sheets of paper. OR he’s a REALLY good painter.
And I’m not taking anything away from him an his accomplishments. He had some very clever ideas, executed them well and the fact that I cant figure them all out, the fact the he’s intrigued me into WANTING to figure them all out meant he’s a great filmmaker!
